How can I reserve a room?

In order to secure a Varcity Living room or property, follow the simple four step procedure below:

  1. Book a viewing; use the contact us section and give us details of the property you wish to view.
  2. You will need to provide details of a UK Guarantor.
  3. You will need to pay a security deposit.
  4. Finally, you must sign a legally binding tenancy agreement.

At Varcity Living we welcome any overseas students but the reservation process is slightly different. Please contact us personally in order to arrange the details of your contract.

Can we book as a group?

Yes

What is a Guarantor and why do I need one?

A Guarantor is someone who undertakes the responsibility of paying the rent for a property, should the student be unable to pay it themselves. The Guarantor will be required to sign the tenancy contract, making a legal obligation to ensure the rent is paid.

How much will the utility bills be?

Our Premium property rentals come fully inclusive of all utilities. For our standard property rentals, the cost will be entirely dependent on use and tariff. This can be discussed with the landlord.

You could also ask existing tenants and they will be able to give you a rough indication of estimated costs.

Can I move out before my tenancy ends?

You are welcome to move out of the property before the tenancy end, however, you will still be responsible to pay the rent and any bills until the official end of your tenancy contract.

Can I move in early?

This is dependent on a number of things including the type of contract that you have, please complete the enquiry form to find out.

Can my friends and family stay over?

Yes of course, although Bangor offers reasonable hotel accommodation for your parents – a full list can be found on the Parents page. Varcity accommodation does not have a problem with friends and family staying over in the rented properties, as long as the stay is short term and does not disrupt your fellow housemates study and enjoyment of the property.

Are my possessions insured?

Personal possessions insurance is only included in some of our Premium properties. For all other properties you will need to arrange your own insurance.

Can I get Internet access?

Our Premium properties come inclusive of Wi-Fi. In all other properties the tenants must connect to, and pay for a Wi-Fi network of their choice.

What are the charges for paying by credit card

There are no charges for paying by Debit Card however there is a small 3% charge for Credit Card Payments.

Can I smoke in the property?

No. All of our properties are non-smoking.

Are there any laundry facilities on site?

Yes. All our properties come equipped with a washing machine, some also come with drying machines.

Is there on-site parking?

Some of our properties come with on-site parking. This information will be included in the property general information.

Will my room be inspected?

Yes, we do inspect all our properties. You will be given plenty of notice before a planned inspection.

Will my room be cleaned?

The property will be clean and tidy when you move in, however we do not provide a cleaning service for our properties as standard. Remember that it is your responsibility to keep your room and shared areas as clean as you found it, or you could be charged.

What happens in an emergency?

We advise that you call the office for personal assistance from 8:30am and 5:30pm. When the office is closed, please call the duty maintenance. Contact details will be provided in your starter pack.
